Fundraiser Provides Warmth for Cancer Patients

A recent fundraiser at Empire Fitness by family and friends in honor of cancer survivor, Lydia Cosumano, raised over $3,000 to benefit patients at Clearview Cancer Institute’s Crestwood office, where Lydia is a patient. With matching funds from the Russel Hill Cancer Foundation, a new blanket warmer was purchased in her honor. A warm blanket is a great comfort to cancer patients, as they receive necessary treatment, allowing them to relax and focus on healing. Special thanks to Sara Longshore, owner of Empire Fitness and all the many volunteers and participants who made this gift possible.One of the goals of the Russel Hill Cancer Foundation is to provide new blanket warmers to other cancer facilities in the region. Donations may be designated for patient care initiatives such as these by including a note with your donation for "blanket warmer fund".
