Dr. Jeremy Hon was born in Hong Kong and came to the United States in 1973. Dr. Hon received his B.S. in Pharmacy at Samford University, and finished his internship at the Children's Hospital in Birmingham. Subsequently, he worked as a Registered Pharmacist at the University Hospital in Birmingham before enrolling at the University of Alabama in Birmingham's School of Medicine. His internship and residency in Internal Medicine were completed at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
He received his fellowship in Oncology/Hematology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. There, he was involved in the laboratory research of leukemia stem cell assay, the effect of recombinant transforming growth factor on the growth of osteoclasts, hypercalcemia in malignancy, and Phase I/II Clinical Trial. He has published an assortment of articles in a wide range of scientific and medical topics.
Dr. Hon is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology, and has practiced medicine in Huntsville since 1985. He has been certified with FACT as a qualified bone marrow transplant physician.
Dr. Hon spends his free time with his family, and enjoys traveling, music, reading, swimming and sketching.
