Dr. Rosa Ortega

Dr. Rosa Michel Ortega recently joined Clearview Cancer Institute. She brings nearly ten years of experience, having worked at The Cancer Center of Huntsville from 2016 to 2021 and at Southern Cancer Center from 2021 to 2026.

Dr. Ortega completed her fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina. She trained in internal medicine at Henry Ford Hospital, where she finished her residency and internship. She earned her medical degree from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in Mexico City.

She is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Hematology, and also holds ECFMG certification. Dr. Ortega has served as a principal investigator and a sub-investigator on several oncology and hematology clinical trials.

Outside of work, she enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, spending time with her husband and his family, and visiting relatives who live outside Alabama.
