Dr. Joseph A. Pettus

Dr. Joseph Pettus is a native of Huntsville, Alabama. He graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1995 and earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed training in General Urology at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, followed by a Urologic Oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

Dr. Pettus served for three years as an Assistant Professor of Urology at Wake Forest University before returning to Huntsville and joining North Alabama Urology. He specializes in minimally invasive cancer surgery and general urology. His approach to cancer care emphasizes multidisciplinary collaboration and treatment tailored to each patient’s individual needs. He is certified by the American Board of Urology.
